- 1938 John Major Sr. and wife, Agnes, opened
a business after many years in printing. John began working
in the industry at the age of 11.
- 1940 Typecraft moved to the Craft Building on
Penn Avenue and printed This Week in Pittsburgh magazine.
- 1941 Typecraft moved to the former Lashchied
Pop Factory in Knoxville and began printing weekly circulars
for Triangle Food Stores.
Equipment: 2 18" x 20" Miller High Speed Cylinder
Presses.
- 1941 Typecraft relocated to the Creasy Building
and expanded to printing newspapers and weekly tabloids.
